The Temple of Promise at Sunrise (420 megapixels)

Why make absurdly large images, like this 420 megapixel panorama, when the subject of the photo occupies only a small fraction of the final work? Other than making a 30" x 250" print, that is? In this case, the answer was easy: without the sky, the Temple didn't seem (to me, anyway) to share as much of a connection to the world that we all go back to when everything is done and burned.
